Objectives until 2013

The main objectives Joensuu region industrial policy until the end of 2013 are:

• The business development programme aims at seeking growth and promoting new business operations, job creation, and internationalization.
• the generation of new jobs will exceed the national average
• the net increase in the number of new businesses and the development of business income will exceed the national average
• the region will attract 4-5 significant national and international investments
• the unemployment rate will follow the development of the rest of Finland or reduce even further
• the use of research and technology services will increase significantly
• The image of the region in terms of business life will be among the three top in Finland
