Joensuu and Keski-Karjala cohesion and competitiveness programme for 2010-2013
The Finnish Government decided in October 2008 that a new regional cohesion and competitiveness programme (KOKO) will be launched in the beginning of 2010. The objective of the programme is to improve the competitiveness of all regions and to balance regional development by supporting interaction and networking.
The programme period will run from 2010 until the end of 2013. The current specific programmes for regional development that will be integrated with KOKO include the Regional Centre Programme (AKO), the adjacent city programmes in the Uusimaa region, the regional part of the Rural Policy Programme (AMO), and the local and regional implementation of the Island Development Programme.

The Joensuu and Keski-Karjala regions are a KOKO area
The Joensuu and Keski-Karjala regions will be a KOKO area during the programme period 2010-2013. The programme is administered by the Joensuu Regional Development Company, JOSEK Ltd.
The KOKO of the region is based on a matrix model, with four focus areas: interfaces between business sectors, creative fields, innovations, and the young as the creators of the future.
All measures to be implemented with programme funding will be clarified in the operational and financial plans that will be prepared each year.
A proposal for the programme period 2010-2013, annual operational and financial plans, and annual reports will be linked below as they become available.
